Job Details JOB SUMMARY: In accordance with the mission and goals established by the department management, provides nutritional care for CCF hospital, subacute and ambulatory clinic patients of all ages at the main campus, family health centers and the Children's Hospital for Rehabilitation. Provides medical nutrition therapy using current scientific principles supported by reliable research to optimize patient care. Performs assessments of individuals nutritional needs; recommends goal-oriented interventions; facilitates the provision of nourishment via food, oral supplements, enteral and parenteral solutions; monitors the nutrition care of patients; and provides seamless transfer of care to others in the continuum. Individualizes care to effect changes in clients behavior to prevent and treat disease through nutrition therapy. Works collaboratively with other health disciplines. Consistently fulfills job responsibilities mindful of customer service principles.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge, Skills & Physical Demands: Requires a B.S. or B.A. in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food and Nutrition or closely related field. Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including problem solving and conflict resolution, in order to effectively convey complex information to a variety of groups and individuals. Ability to effectively use electronic communication tools. Demonstrated ability to function effectively in an interdisciplinary environment. A minimum of one year prior experience as a Registered Dietitian in clinical nutrition, with responsibility for nutritional assessment and counseling, development of nutrition care plans, and patient follow-up. Successful completion of CCF Dietetic Internship Program may substitute for experience requirement (Graduate Dietitian). Maintains current license to practice dietetics in the State of Ohio and active certification as a registered dietitian. Physical demands include ability to navigate extensively to provide services to a large number of patients throughout the hospital, and manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer entry. Must have physical ability to measure and weigh patients.
