Atlanta Medical Center, formerly Georgia Baptist Medical Center, is a 467-bed acute care facility sprawled across two city blocks near the heart of downtown Atlanta. Under direct supervision, process the medical records of patients who have completed an episode of care. These duties include:
1. Accurately scans and indexes discharged records
2. Maintains scanner in working order with ability to change components in scanner.
3. Performs quality control of images.
4. Assembles hospital discharge records and outpatient records using established hospital guidelines.
5. Ensures that all outside diagnostic testing is filed in the appropriate section of the record.
6. Analyze hospital records to ensure completeness according to department and hospital standards.
7. Assigns deficiencies to the appropriate member of the medical staff or resident assigned to the medical staff member
8. Reanalyzes records when a physician requests the record to ensure that nothing has changed in the record, updating the deficiency system to reflect changes.
This position requires high school graduation (GED) and two years of experience as a medical record analyst or equivalent experience required. Either bilingual, imaging experience with scanning/indexing or IT courses at an accredited program preferred.
The successful candidate will have:
1. Familiarity with and ability to read medical records.
2. Ability to use computer systems.
3. Bilingual skills are preferred..
4. Ability to follow oral and written instructions and to write legibly.
5. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, patients, families, and physicians
10:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. Tuesday - Saturday.
